Authentication error when exporting segment to LiveRamp in AEP
In Adobe Experience Platform, an authentication error occurs when you export a segment from the production sandbox to the LiveRamp Onboarding destination. The error message indicates issues with authentication methods and suggests verifying credentials and encryption key configuration. To fix this, reset the password for the account credentials used for authentication and update them in the production sandbox.
Description description
Environment
- Product: Adobe Experience Platform
- Sandbox environments: Production
Issue/Symptoms
- Exporting a segment from the production sandbox to LiveRamp Onboarding fails with an authentication error.
- Error message indicates failure for methods
publickey, passwordand advises verifying credentials and encryption public key. - Export works from the development sandbox using the same credentials.
A typical error message looks like:
An error has occurred when authenticating to the destination. Unable to perform the data export with the parameters flowId=[ value] segmentId=[ value] flowRunId=[ value] . The error message returned by the destination is com.activation.com.jcraft.jsch.JSchException: Auth fail for methods ‘publickey, password’. Please verify that your credentials are valid before trying again, and ensure that the encryption public key, including header and footer, is correctly specified.
Resolution resolution
To fix this issue, follow these steps:
- Reset the password for the account credentials used to authenticate with LiveRamp Onboarding.
- In Adobe Experience Platform, update the credentials for the production sandbox.
- Export the segment again from the production sandbox.
- Verify that the export completes successfully without authentication errors.
Note
The issue does not occur in development sandboxes using identical credentials, indicating an environment-specific credential problem.
