Incremental exports to S3 destination not exporting mapped audience in AEP

In AEP, incremental exports to an Amazon S3 destination result in zero records exported, even though the mapped audience shows valid incremental counts. The export pipeline doesn’t process new data after rescheduling or modifying the export type and schedule. To fix this issue, remap the audience as a fresh incremental export and avoid changes to configuration, schedule, or flowspec after remapping.

Description description

Environment

  • Product: Adobe Experience Platform
  • Constraints: Issue observed with destinations configured for incremental exports to Amazon S3

Issue/Symptom

Incremental exports to the S3 destination complete successfully but contain zero records, even though the mapped audience shows valid incremental audience counts. The export pipeline doesn’t process new data after rescheduling or modifying the export type and schedule.

Resolution resolution

To fix this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the affected audience mapping from the destination.
  2. Remap the audience explicitly as a fresh incremental export in the destination.
  3. Ensure that no changes are made to configuration, schedule, or flowspec after remapping.
  4. Monitor subsequent incremental runs for successful data export.
  5. Verify that exported files in S3 contain records matching the expected incremental audience counts.

Notes

  • Modifying an existing schedule or changing export type from full to incremental without remapping prevent proper checkpoint establishment for incremental exports.
  • The presence of multiple system datasets related to profile export and referencing a dataset with no data can also result in zero exports.
