Reset the admin password in Forms without segmentstore in AEM 6.5 Forms

When you try to reset the admin password in Adobe Experience Manager 6.5 Forms and the segmentstore folder isn’t present, the standard reset instructions won’t work. To fix this, use the password reset package and install it through the crx-repository/install directory.

Issue/Symptoms

The admin password doesn’t work.
Standard reset instructions fail because the segmentstore folder is missing on the server.

Resolution resolution

Get the password reset package provided for your environment. reset_admin_pass_to_admin.zip
Place the package file in the crx-repository/install directory of your AEM Forms instance.
Tail the error logs and wait until the system stabilizes.
After installation, log in with the default or newly set admin credentials to confirm the reset worked.
