A/B tests with the original email set to operational status do not bypass Unsubscribed and Marketing Suspended settings.
Resolution resolution
AB Testing does not support operational emails. There is a work around which could be used with caution:

For AB testing using an operational email, edit the “communication limit settings” on the Email Batch Program setup tab and uncheck “Block Non-operational email”. This will ensure the email behaves as operational email.

However this setting should be used with caution for non-operational emails.
