Error log warnings related to LiveFyre in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)

In AEM on-premise, error logs show repeated warnings because AEM tries to run a LiveFyre polling import job. The importer no longer exists since Adobe discontinued LiveFyre on November 30, 2022. To fix this, disable the LiveFyre functionality.

Description description

Environment

  • Product: Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) On-Premise
  • Version: AEM 6.5
  • Instance: Production

Issue/Symptoms

  • In AEM error logs, the following warning message appears repeatedly:

    code language-none
*WARN* [ sling-cq-polling-importer-9-myDataSource] com.day.cq.polling.importer.impl.PollingImporterImpl importData: Cannot import from PollConfig(/etc/importers/polling/livefyre-poller/jcr:content): scheme=livefyreRightsImporter,source=myDataSource,target=/etc/importers/polling/livefyre-poller/jcr:content,interval=300s,enabled=true: No importer for scheme livefyreRightsImporter registered

  • AEM attempts to execute a polling import job for LiveFyre integration.

  • The importer no longer exists because LiveFyre was discontinued by Adobe on November 30, 2022.

  • Obsolete poller jobs continue to run, resulting in harmless log entries.

Cause

  • Adobe discontinued LiveFyre and removed its importers from the product.
  • Default AEM 6.5.17.0 installations might still have legacy polling importer configurations that try to run scheduled jobs for LiveFyre sources.
  • Since LiveFyre and its importers have been removed from the product, the poller tries to trigger a job that cannot run, causing repeated harmless warning messages in the log.

Resolution resolution

To resolve this issue follow these steps:

  1. Log in to AEM Package Manager at /crx/packmgr/index.jsp.
  2. Select Upload Package, choose DisableLiveFyreCode.ui.content-1.0.2, then select Install.
  3. Navigate to CRX/DE at /crx/de/index.jsp#/etc/importers/polling/livefyre-poller/jcr:content.
  4. Confirm that the interval property is set to 300000000.
  5. Replace [ server] with your AEM server’s hostname or IP address. Use port 4502 for author instances or 4503 for publisher instances.

Notes

  • Remove or disable obsolete integration pollers from both custom and out-of-the-box AEM environments when integrations (e.g., LiveFyre) are sunset.
  • Regularly audit /etc/importers/polling for references to deprecated services.
  • Monitor product discontinuation bulletins and promptly remove related configurations.
  • Submit a support ticket to Adobe Customer Support to get the package.
