PDF generation fails in AEM Forms 6.5 due to incorrect font directory settings. To fix this, verify the font configuration, update the path in Core Configurations, and restart the AEM server.

Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Forms version 6.5

Issue/Symptoms

  • AEM Forms fails to generate or flatten PDFs using form templates and parsed data.

  • System logs show font-related errors during PDF generation.

  • Error message in logs:

    *ALC-OUT-002-013: XMLFormFactory, PAexecute failure: “0 : Failed to locate Adobe Font information. Please check your Adobe Font location settings.”

    com.adobe.printSubmitter.PrintException: 0 : Failed to locate Adobe Font information. Please check your Adobe Font location settings.*

Resolution resolution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Verify the font directory configuration in your AEM installation.
  2. Make sure the font location setting points to the correct directory, especially if AEM is installed on a non-default drive.
  3. Go to Home > Settings > Core System Settings > Core Configurations in your AEM instance.
  4. Update the font directory path to match your installation drive and folder structure.
  5. After saving the changes, restart your AEM server.
  6. Finally, test the PDF generation process to confirm that the issue is resolved.
