Video Preview issue on AEM 6.5 + DMS7
If you are unable to preview videos in the DMS7 viewers on an AEM 6.5 environment, the problem may be caused by viewer presets that still reference an old DMS7 configuration. Simply removing and recreating the Dynamic Media Cloud Configuration in AEM does not fully resolve this issue. This article explains how to clean up legacy viewer presets and restore video previews by deleting the old config and preset folders before setting up a new Dynamic Media Cloud Configuration.

You are unable to preview videos in the AEM 6.5 author environment using DMS7 viewers.
Resolution resolution
The author might have previously been configured to replicate to a different DMS7 instance. As a result, the out-of-the-box (OOTB) viewer presets still point to the old instance. Simply removing and reconfiguring the CloudConfig does not fully resolve the issue. Try the following steps to resolve:
- Log into your AEM Author instance. In the left-hand navigation rail, click on the Tools icon (the hammer).
- Within Tools, select Cloud Services, then Dynamic Media Configuration.
- Locate the current Dynamic Media Cloud Config (DM Cloud Config) that’s being used for Dynamic Media setup.
- Delete this DM Cloud Config from the UI to remove old connection information.
- In the AEM CRX/DE (Content Repository), navigate to /conf/global/settings/dam/dm/presets/viewer and delete this folder. This removes out-of-the-box viewer presets that still point to the wrong DMS7 environment.
- Return to Tools, select Cloud Services, then Dynamic Media Configuration, and create a new DM Cloud Config. This regenerates the viewer presets folder in CRX/DE with correct references for your DMS7 environment.
