How to Enable “Log report builder data block to web console” and Capture Requests/Responses in Report Builder

Description description

The troubleshooting setting in Report Builder allows you to log client/server data to the web console. This feature is useful for diagnosing issues and providing detailed information when escalating support tickets.

Resolution resolution

  1. Launch Report Builder
    Open the Report Builder add-in in Excel.

  2. Open the Settings Panel
    Click the ‘Settings’ icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Enable Troubleshooting Logging
    In the ‘Troubleshooting’ section, check the option “Log report builder data block to web console.”

  4. Apply the Changes
    Click Apply to save the settings.

  5. Open DevTools
    Right-click anywhere on the add-in and select ‘Inspect’.

  6. Confirm DevTools Opens
    The DevTools window will pop up.

  7. Run a Request in Report Builder
    Execute any request within Report Builder.

  8. Check Logs in the Network Tab
    In DevTools, go to the ‘Network’ tab. Under ‘data’, look for ‘message’ entries to view the logged request and response details.
