Unable to edit issue status linked to project in Workfront
If you’re using Adobe Workfront and can’t change the status of an issue, it’s likely because the issue is linked to a project. In this case, the project controls the status. To fix it, you need to remove the project relationship from the issue.

Issue/Symptoms
You can’t manually change the status of an issue that’s linked to a project, even if you have the right permissions. Symptoms include:
- You, including system administrators, can’t manually change the status of an issue.
- The problem continues in different browsers, incognito mode, and preview mode.
- The issue is linked to a project and stays uneditable even though you have the right permissions.
- You can update other issues that aren’t linked to projects without any problems.
Resolution resolution
To fix the issue:
- Open the issue in Adobe Workfront.
- Go to Edit
>
Request Relationship. - Remove the
Resolved By
relationship that links the issue to the project. - Save your changes.
Once you remove the relationship, you’ll be able to manually update the issue’s status.
