Adobe Experience Platform - Partner ID profile look-up does not display results
Partner ID profile look-up does not display results in Adobe Experience Platform due to the way identity graphs function. This article explains why this occurs and offers a solution using Query Service.
Description description
Environment
Adobe Experience Platform
Issue/Symptoms
Despite successfully ingesting data and proper backend functionality, Partner ID-linked identities don’t appear in searches performed under Identities >
Identity Graph (Namespace) within Adobe Experience Platform.
This behavior leads to confusion regarding whether the ingested data is accessible or if system errors are preventing results from appearing.
Resolution resolution
Partner IDs are identifiers used by data partners to represent individuals pseudonymously. These IDs are primarily used for audience activation and data enrichment but do not support building identity graph linkages. As such:
- Identity graphs are not generated when ingesting identities that use an identity namespace classified as a Partner ID type.
- Consequently, querying these identities directly in the AEP interface will not display any results, as no graph linkage exists for these types of identifiers.
To work with Partner IDs effectively:
- Use Query Service within Adobe Experience Platform to query and analyze ingested data related to Partner IDs. For steps, refer to Query Service Overview.
- Avoid relying on direct UI-based searches for viewing individual Partner ID values, as this functionality is not supported due to the absence of identity graph linkages.
- Ensure that your use case aligns with the intended purpose of Partner IDs—expanded audience activation and data enrichment—rather than profile merging or graph-based operations.
Failure to adhere to these guidelines could lead to system limitations or unintended profile merging within Identity Service.
