Renaming an offline channel in Marketo Measure involves creating a new channel and subchannel, reassigning touchpoints, and eventually removing the old channel without causing disruptions. This ensures your attribution data remains accurate throughout the process.

  • Renaming an existing offline channel (for example, Paid Lead) to a new name (for example, Paid Lead Platforms).
  • Updating the associated Salesforce campaign type to maintain accurate attribution.
  • Ensuring there are no duplicate touchpoints or data inconsistencies during the transition.

Resolution resolution

Follow these steps to rename an offline channel in Marketo Measure while maintaining data integrity:

  1. Ensure the new campaign type is created and updated in Salesforce. Allow up to 24-48 hours for the new campaign type to populate in Marketo Measure before proceeding.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Channels > Create Channels within Marketo Measure:

    1. Create the new Channel and Subchannels(s) as needed. Save your changes but do not delete the current Channel at this stage.
    2. Under Channel Rules for CRM Campaign Type, locate your newly created Campaign Type from Salesforce and assign it to the newly created Channel/Subchannel(s). If previous campaign types remain unchanged, update their associated Channel and Subchannel accordingly within this section of settings. Save all updates.

  3. Allow 72 hours for changes to process fully within Marketo Measure.

  4. Once processing is complete, return to Settings > Channels > Create Channels, and delete the old Channel and Subchannel (for example, Paid Lead).

  5. If you are unable to remove the old Channel and Subchannel after saving and refreshing, it indicates that there are still touchpoints linked to it. Wait until all related touchpoints have been reprocessed under the new configuration before attempting deletion again.
