Workflow running unexpectedly despite scheduler settings on Adobe Campaign Managed Cloud

Unexpected workflow executions in Adobe Campaign Managed Cloud occur when scheduler updates are not applied. Modify any scheduler settings, start and restart the workflow.

Description description

Environment

Adobe Campaign Managed Cloud, Version v8 (Server Build 8.6.2).

Issue/Symptoms

Unexpected workflow execution. For example, a workflow was set up to run on a certain schedule after a certain date but it was executed on an unexpected date. This occurred after a modification was made to the scheduler without restarting the workflow.

This issue is not specific to particular dates or a single workflow. Any workflow that has a scheduler configured inside it can be impacted if best practice is not followed.

Resolution resolution

Try the following steps:

  1. Changes to the scheduler require stopping and restarting the workflow to take effect, otherwise, these modifications do not automatically take effect.
  2. Correct the workflow management by saving changes after modifying scheduler settings, and stopping and restarting the workflow to apply the scheduler modifications.
  3. Use the audit trail feature to review workflow and scheduler modifications. For steps, refer to Audit trail in Campaign v8 Documentation.

By following these steps, you can ensure workflows execute as intended and avoid unexpected behavior caused by overlooked procedures.
