Resolving missing offline channels in Marketo Measure

In Marketo Measure, certain offline channels are missing during configuration. The problem occurs when Customer Relationship Management (CRM) campaign types are inactive in Salesforce, preventing them from appearing under Offline Channels. Ensuring CRM campaign types are active in Salesforce resolves the issue.

Description description

Environment

Product: Marketo Measure
Applicable Context: Configuration of Offline Channels
Constraints: Requires integration with Salesforce CRM

Issue/Symptoms

  • Offline channels do not display the CRM Campaign Type, such as Event - Partner Tradeshow or Conference, in Marketo Measure.
  • These channels are linked to inactive CRM campaign types in Salesforce, preventing them from syncing with Marketo Measure.

Resolution resolution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Verify campaign type status in Salesforce:

    1. Navigate to Salesforce Setup.
    2. Go to Campaign > Fields > Type.
    3. Check if the relevant campaign type (for example, Event - Partner Tradeshow or Conference) is listed under Active Picklist Values.
  2. If the campaign type is inactive, move it to the Active Picklist Values by editing its status, or alternatively, change the type of affected campaigns to an already active type.

  3. Sync the changes with Marketo Measure:

    • After making changes in Salesforce, ensure synchronization with Marketo Measure.
    • Create a new Offline Channel rule in Marketo Measure for the CRM campaign type, mapping it to the correct Channel/SubChannel.
    • Save and publish the changes. Updates to the touchpoints will take about 3 days to reprocess.

By ensuring CRM campaign types are active, they will become accessible within Marketo Measure’s Offline Channels configuration.
