Enabling TLS v1.3 for Custom Actions in Adobe Journey Optimizer

In Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), maintain data integrity and security when connecting to third-party systems by enabling Transport Layer Security (TLS) v1.3 for custom actions.

Description description

Environment

Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO)

Issue/Symptoms

Third-party systems, such as SMS providers like Soprano support the most secure TLS version (TLS v1.3), however, there is uncertainty about Custom Actions using the latest version for making connections.

Resolution resolution

Note: AJO already supports TLS v1.3.

The negotiation of the TLS protocol occurs between the client and the server during connection establishment. If both support TLS v1.3, it will be used. If either side doesn’t support the newer version, it’ll default to TLS v1.2.

To ensure TLS v1.3 is used for connections,

  • Ensure your client application and intermediary proxies are configured to support and prefer TLS v1.3 for connections.
  • Verify with your third-party service providers (for example, Soprano) that they also support TLS v1.3 and prefer connections over TLS v1.3.
