Delivery redirection issue in Adobe Experience Manager Sites
Last update: February 26, 2025
This article explains how to resolve the Adobe Experience Manager issue where redirection for a certain delivery domain may not function as expected.
Description
Environment
Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), version 6.5
Issue/Symptoms
In certain scenarios, the redirection for a certain delivery domain may not function as expected. The domain may either incorrectly point to a different endpoint instead of the one intended, or does not point anywhere.
Cause
This issue typically arises due to DNS configuration discrepancies that result in incorrect routing.
Resolution
Verify DNS configuration
- Ensure that the DNS entry has fully propagated across all networks.
- Use tools like MXToolbox or DNSChecker to confirm that the
CNAME
records are correctly configured and have propagated globally.
Check internal network settings
- If issues persist within specific networks, such as an internal corporate network, verify that DNS changes have been applied internally.
- Consult with your domain administration team to ensure that internal DNS settings align with external configurations.
Allow time for propagation
DNS changes can take several hours to propagate fully across all networks. Therefore, re-test the redirection after allowing sufficient time for these changes to take effect.
