Content fragments not removed from the references tab of assets
This article provides a solution for resolving the issue in AAdobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS) - Assets, where references to content fragments persist in the references tab of an asset’s metadata UI, even after the asset has been successfully removed from the content fragment.
Description description
Environment
Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS) - Assets
Issue
When an asset is detached or deleted from a content fragment, its reference continues to appear in the references tab of the asset’s metadata UI. This issue occurs with the older content fragment editor and creates inconsistencies in the asset management system.
Resolution resolution
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
-
Use the New CF editor:
- Transition to the new Content Fragment (CF) editor available within AEM.
- The new CF editor ensures that changes, such as removing an asset from a content fragment, are immediately reflected in the references tab of the asset’s metadata.
-
Perform reindexing:
- If transitioning to the new CF editor isn’t feasible immediately, perform reindexing of your assets as a temporary measure.
- Reindexing helps synchronize and update the reference data across the system.
-
Monitor future updates:
- Adobe has logged this issue for resolution in future updates to AEM.
- While no immediate service loss occurs, switching to the new editor or reindexing is advised for better consistency.
