Unable to push Segments to Freewheel destination

This article explains how to resolve errors when pushing audience segments from Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) to the Freewheel destination. By following the steps outlined, you can identify and correct missing attributes in segment selectors. This involves reviewing audiences for incomplete configurations, patching them with required attributes, and verifying successful integration with Freewheel.

Description description

Environment

Adobe Experience Platform (AEP)

Issue/Symptoms

When attempting to push segments from AEP to Freewheel (S3), an error occurs due to missing attributes in segment selectors. This issue may prevent all segments activated via API from being processed correctly, disrupting the integration.

Resolution resolution

  1. Review all activated audiences and check for missing attributes such as filenameTemplate, exportMode, schedule, frequency, and endDate.

  2. Patch the identified audiences by ensuring their segment selectors include the required properties:

    • filenameTemplate
    • exportMode
    • A valid schedule
  3. Activate new audiences through a separate UI audience activation operation.

  4. Verify that the updated segments are now successfully pushed to the Freewheel destination.

By ensuring that all necessary properties are included in the segment selectors, AEP can process and activate these segments without encountering errors related to missing data fields. This approach addresses discrepancies between API-mapped segments and those managed through the user interface, facilitating seamless integration with external destinations like Freewheel.
