Image preview isn’t working
This article addresses an issue with image previews not working correctly within Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) as a Cloud Service. You will learn about the symptoms of this problem and how to resolve it by adjusting the JPEG quality settings.
Description description
Environment
Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS)
Issue
You notice that when you open an asset in the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system for preview in the author environment, the image doesn’t render correctly. However, the image functions as expected when loaded in publish mode or used inside a component. This issue is specific to the author environment and doesn’t affect the publish instance or component usage.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open the AEM author environment.
- Navigate to the specified image asset in the DAM.
- Attempt to preview the image asset.
Expected Behavior
The image renders correctly in the preview mode within the AEM author environment.
Actual Behavior
The image doesn’t render properly when previewed in the AEM author environment.
Resolution resolution
The default JPEG quality in the Image Rendering Publish context is not taking effect; it appears to be set to 80 but is behaving as if it were 0.
After resetting it to 80, everything is working as intended.
