Description description

Environment

Adobe Experience Manager 6.5.21.0 (Service Pack 21)

Issue/Symptoms

When configuring TarMK Coldstandby in AEM, the Author Standby instance normally returns an error response. This article explains the change in error code when installing AEM 6.5 SP21

Resolution resolution

In the previous versions (AEM 6.5.20.0 or earlier), accessing the Author Standby instance resulted in a 503 error. In the updated version (AEM 6.5.21.0), after installing Service Pack 21, this error has changed to a 404. This is expected behavior.

To check the TarMK Coldstandby configuration status, follow these steps in the Standby instance’s OSGi Web Console under Main > JMX (http://localhost:port/system/console/jmx) > Standby Status:

  • Ensure that the SecondsSinceLastSuccess value updates periodically.
  • Confirm that FailedRequests is not continuously increasing.
  • Verify that the tarmk-coldstandby.log does not repeatedly show errors.
