How to stop email from AEM to user who no longer uses AEM

To stop AEM emailing a user, remove the user from the groups to which AEM sends emails and remove email addresses from the user’s information, which are better solutions than deleting a user.

Environment

Adobe Experience Manager 6.5 (AEM 6.5)

Issue

When you no longer use AEM, the system continues to send emails to you.

Resolution

Step 1. Remove the user from the groups to which AEM sends emails.

Step 2. Remove email addresses from the user’s information.

AEM strongly recommends disabling rather than deleting a user. Even if a user is disabled, AEM will continue to send emails based on the user’s profile.
