Issue
After installing and configuring the AEM Desktop App following the steps described in Install Adobe Experience Manager desktop app from the AEM desktop app guide, when connecting to the AEM author instance, the application gives the error, “The application encountered an unknown erro r”.

Solution
The issue is reproducible when at step 8 in Install Adobe Experience Manager desktop app in the AEM desktop app guide, the URL http://[ aem_server] :[ port] /assets.html/content/dam is used for the connection with the Experience Manager repository instead of http://[ aem_server] :[ port] .
