Adobe Analytics 1.4 API end-of-life

Effective August 31, 2026, Adobe has retired the Adobe Analytics 1.4 API and WSSE authentication. All endpoints that use this version of the API are no longer accessible, and integrations built on it have stopped working.

The Adobe Analytics 1.4 APIs provided a wide range of actions, such as reporting, classifications, data feeds, segments, calculated metrics, data sources, and report suite configuration. They have been replaced by the Adobe Analytics 2.0 APIs, which let you perform almost any action available in the Adobe Analytics user interface, including reporting and managing components such as segments and calculated metrics. If you have an integration that still needs to be upgraded, follow the guide for Migrating to Adobe Analytics 2.0 APIs.

What reached end-of-life

This end-of-life directly impacts the following 1.4 API capabilities. Migrate each affected workflow to the Adobe Analytics 2.0 APIs:

  • Reporting (including Data Warehouse, real-time, pathing, and summary reports)
  • Report suite configuration and administration
  • Classifications
  • Segments
  • Calculated metrics
  • Data sources
  • Data feeds
  • Bookmarks and company (endpoint) methods

It also retires Adobe Analytics WSSE authentication (see WSSE authentication below).

IMPORTANT
This end-of-life does not affect your data collection. Tagging solutions such as Tags (formerly Adobe Launch), the Web SDK, and AppMeasurement are unaffected. The Data Insertion API is also not retired. However, if you use the 1.4 Data Sources or Classifications APIs to enhance your data, you must migrate those workflows to the Adobe Analytics 2.0 APIs.

WSSE authentication

WSSE authentication is a legacy authentication protocol that was supported by the Analytics 1.4 APIs. It has been replaced by the OAuth-based authentication options provided in the Adobe Developer Console. Projects that used WSSE authentication must update their credentials to those provisioned in the Adobe Developer Console.

To migrate, log in to the Adobe Developer Console and create a project for your Analytics 2.0 API integration. Select either the OAuth User or OAuth Server-to-Server authentication method.

Data Insertion API

The Data Insertion API is not part of this end-of-life. Its documentation moved to the Adobe Analytics data collection APIs site, alongside the other server-side collection methods:

  • Data Insertion API: Send event data one hit at a time, as a query string (image request) or an XML POST.
  • Bulk Data Insertion API: Upload batches of server-call data as files. Adobe recommends using the Bulk Data Insertion API for new server-side implementations.

Frequently asked questions

Does this impact my existing Adobe Developer projects for the Analytics APIs?
Any existing projects that use the Analytics 1.4 APIs are impacted. Those integrations must be migrated to the Adobe Analytics 2.0 APIs.
I've shared my Adobe credentials with another product or application that uses the Analytics APIs. Are they impacted?
If that product or application uses your WSSE credential or calls the Analytics 1.4 APIs, it is impacted and must migrate. Reach out to the product or application provider for details on their migration plans and timeline.
How can I determine which API my project uses?

The base URL that your project calls determines which API version it uses. The Adobe Analytics 1.4 APIs used the following base URLs:

The Adobe Analytics 2.0 APIs use the following base URL:

If any of your API projects call api*.omniture.com, they use the retired Adobe Analytics 1.4 APIs and must migrate to the 2.0 APIs.

Does this end-of-life impact data collection?
No. This end-of-life does not impact direct data collection, such as Tags, the Web SDK, AppMeasurement, or the Data Insertion API. However, if you use the 1.4 Data Sources or Classifications APIs to enhance your data, you must migrate those workflows to the Adobe Analytics 2.0 APIs.
