Learn how Adobe Firefly inside of Photoshop can help accelerate the production of web ad banners. Here we have an image we’ve been using for a campaign, but now we want to create variations to target a new audience of college students that have red as their college colors. To replace her outfit, you can use the lasso tool to simply select the outfit. Your selection doesn’t have to be precise. And then using generative fill, you can provide a text prompt, in this case red shirt, to replace the existing shirt. Once the generative fill has processed, you can see different variations that you can select in the right hand pane. This allows you to spend less time compositing and more time focusing on the creative. This looks like an ideal shirt, so now let’s move on to creating our web banners. Here we can see a number of different banner sizes. However, each banner dimension presents a different challenge adapting this image. Fortunately, generative fill can help make this easy. First, if we look at this half page ad, we need to fill in the empty space. You can simply do this by selecting the area and applying generative fill. In just a quick second, the area is filled. Now with this banner done, let’s move on to the next one. For the next banner, it’s extremely wide. So to help fill in the area, we want to have it fill with mountains. You can then just enter in our prompt to add mountains. Now that we solved that banner, let’s go on to the next one. Now for this next banner, we want to do something a little bit different. Because there’s so much space at the top, maybe we want to add some dark clouds. We simply select the area, enter our text, we’ll wait for the generative fill to process, and then here we go, another banner is done. Now let’s go ahead and move on to our final banner. For this particular banner, it’s going to get a little bit more complicated because the area we need to fill is adding more of our body, which we don’t have. But no worries, again generative fill can solve that. We just select all the areas. We simply apply the generative fill. And after it’s processed, you can see that it filled not only in the background, but also the body as well. And again, you can select variations in the right hand pane. So you can see that in just a few moments, we were able to take the same image and create numerous variations. Generative fill powered by Adobe Firefly helps accelerate web banner creation by allowing you to spend more time on being creative and less time on compositing to create variations.
