ACSD-48234: catalog search result shows incorrect category item count Display Out of Stock Products enabled
The ACSD-48234 patch solves the issue where the catalog search result shows an incorrect category item count when the Display Out of Stock Products option is enabled. This patch is available when the Quality Patches Tool (QPT) 1.1.25 is installed. The patch ID is ACSD-48234. Please note that the issue is scheduled to be fixed in Adobe Commerce 2.4.6.

The catalog search result shows an incorrect category item count when the Display Out of Stock Products option is enabled.
Steps to reproduce:

Go to Stores > Attributes > Product and open color attribute.

Add two options, for example orange and green. Save the attribute.

Go to Stores > Attributes > Attribute Set and add the color attribute to the Default attribute set.

Go to Stores > Settings > Configuration > CATALOG > Inventory > Stock Options and set Display Out of Stock Products to Yes.

Create category “cat1”.

Create two products:
- Name: prod1, Color: orange, Categories: cat1.
- Name: prod2, Color: green, Categories: cat1.

Open cat1 category on the storefront.

Select the orange color at the layered navigation.
Expected results:
Only prod1 product is shown.
Actual results:
Both prod1 and prod2 products are shown.
