Configure Campaign for the Experience Manager integration

Learn how to set up the integration between Experience Manager and Campaign, including important settings to look for and potential ‘gotchas’ to avoid.

Hello. In this video, we are going to configure an Adobe Campaign instance to be ready to integrate with Adobe Experience Manager. Let’s start by logging into our Adobe Campaign instance that we wish to integrate with AEM. Our first task for setting up the integration is to install the AEM integration package for Adobe Campaign. This sets the AEM server operator in Campaign which is used to connect to the Campaign and Experience manager server. To do this, navigate to the tools tab at the top of Campaign, then select advanced, followed by selecting import package. The entities import wizard pop over appears. The package we want to install is a standard package. So we want to select install a standard package. A list of standard packages appear. Scroll down to find the AEM integration package. Once selected, as indicated by the check mark, select next to continue. The installer appears. Select start to install the package, and once it is a hundred percent done, we can close the window. Now that we have the AEM integration package installed, the next step is to configure an external account to connect to Adobe Experience Manager. Navigate to the explorer tab. Then, within the left side panel, select administration, followed by selecting platform. Within platform, select external accounts.
We can create a new external account by selecting the create new account icon. Next, in the setup, we can set the type to AEM via the dropdown. Once selected, enter the following credentials. The server, and your account, and password for your AEM authoring instance. Note, that the server you enter must be the authoring server and not your publishing server. You’ll receive an error if you try using the publishing server. Once everything has been filled in, make sure to check the enabled box, followed by selecting save. Now that we have configured the external account, we need to configure AEM resources filtering. Resource filtering is used to filter Experience Manager resources that can be used in Adobe Campaign. This allows Campaign to retrieve Experience Manager content that’s specifically designed to be used in Campaign.
While in the explorers tab, select administration, platform, followed by selecting options. Next, select AEM resource type filter. Instead of scrolling, we can search the internal name, AEM. This option should be pre-configured. However, we want to check if the configuration is properly set up. Once selected, in the value text field, make sure the path is one of the following paths showing on the screen. As noted in the description, we use commas to separate the resources. It is likely that no changes need to be made. However, if changes were made, remember to select save. With that, we now have our Campaign AEM integration configured. However, things are not ready just yet. We still have to configure AEM to connect with Campaign. This will be shown in a subsequent video. Thanks for watching and see you in the next video. . -
