Citation Attempt
Citation Attempt suggestions help you identify gaps in your Prompt Library by recommending prompts for pages that AI systems are already accessing as potential citation sources.
Instead of manually deciding which prompts to track, Adobe Brand Visibility analyzes citation attempt activity from the Agentic Traffic dashboard to identify pages that are already relevant to AI systems. It then generates prompt suggestions grounded in the content of those pages, helping you expand your prompt coverage where it matters most.
How Citation Attempt suggestions work how-it-works
Adobe Brand Visibility generates Citation Attempt suggestions using a four-step workflow.
Identify high-signal pages identify-high-signal-pages
Adobe Brand Visibility analyzes citation attempt activity to identify pages that AI systems consistently access as potential sources when generating responses.
Rather than looking at activity from a single point in time, the analysis focuses on pages that show consistent citation activity over time, ensuring suggestions are based on meaningful AI engagement.
Analyze page content analyze-page-content
For each qualifying page, Adobe Brand Visibility analyzes the page content to understand:
- What the page is about.
- The type of content, such as a product, resource, support, or hub page.
- The primary user intent the page is designed to answer.
This information helps generate prompts that accurately reflect the purpose and content of the page.
Check existing prompt coverage check-existing-coverage
Before generating new suggestions, Adobe Brand Visibility compares each page against your existing Prompt Library.
If the page is already adequately represented by one or more configured prompts, no new suggestions are generated. Pages that are not sufficiently covered are identified as coverage gaps and become candidates for new prompt suggestions.
Generate prompt suggestions generate-prompt-suggestions
For each coverage gap, Adobe Brand Visibility generates prompts based on the page’s content and intended audience.
Generated prompts are:
- Grounded in the page content.
- Reviewed for quality and relevance.
- Checked to remove duplicate or overly similar prompts.
- Tagged with the appropriate category and topic or subcategory.
- Accompanied by an explanation describing why the prompt was recommended.
