Identify

Learning objectives

The Identify step within the LID methodology is broken into two distinct parts:

  1. Part 1 - Remaining Table Types -> identify the remaining unlabeled tables and label the denormalization type
  2. Part 2 - Key Fields -> identify the key fields of both the primary and supporting entities

It will teach you to identify the following items within a relational model that you will need for designing the Real-Time Customer Profile:

  • Bridge tables (tables that handle many-to-many relationships)
  • Tables that will require denormalization
  • Primary identities within the Real-Time Customer Profile
  • Person-based identities within the primary entity classes that can be used to uniquely identify a person
  • Relationship identifiers between Individual Profile / Experience Event tables and associated lookup tables
  • Required fields needed for the Experience Event schemas
  • Recommended fields for Individual Profile and lookup schemas
