Alt-text authoring in Markdown alt-text
Alt-text is the name that you give an image (screenshot, process graphic, or video) in the Markdown source. It displays on a published page when readers hover over an asset with the cursor. For SEO, use a readable name that helps search engines discover content.
Strategies for authoring alt-text, use text that:
- Matches the interface element being documented
- Matches the related (nearest) heading
- Matches the feature name or product page name
Alt-text should follow general Adobe authoring guidelines. You’ll find excellent ideas and guidance in Adobe Spectrum. See Writing with visuals.
