Create an Email with dynamic content
In this step, take the same steps you used to create an email program in module 2, but build a custom smart list to define the email audience for those in the healthcare and finance industries. You will also make some parts of the email dynamic so they display differently depending on the recipient's industry.
Demonstration: Create an email program
Learn how to create an email program for a special offer.
-
Create an email program that uses the email send channel.
-
Create email program subfolders for assets, campaigns, and reports.
Demonstration: add a period cost
Learn how to add a period cost of 400 for imagery license rights.
Demonstration: define your audience using a smart list
Learn how to add the industry filter to the smart list tab and select healthcare and finance, then check the audience tile to see how many people will be targeted.
Demonstration: create a dynamic email and send a sample to review
Now that the audience is complete, we can focus on building an email with dynamic content.
-
Create the email and select the email template.
-
Make the subject line and Hero image dynamic.
-
Perform other updates like removing modules and replacing copy.
-
Update the Hero button.
-
Preview the Email.
-
Send yourself samples of both a specific dynamic version of the email and using your record.
-
Approve the email.
Once the email is approved, you will schedule the email to send on the Schedule tile.
Demonstration: schedule the email to send at a specific date and time
Once the email is approved, the expert will schedule the email to send on the Schedule tile, using the recipient time zone and head start options.
Demonstration: approve your program
All that is left is to approve the program to ensure Marketo Engage will send it when scheduled.
Demonstration: measure success using a smart campaign
With the email program approved, we need to tell Marketo Engage what success looks like for this program. In this activity, watch an expert create a smart campaign with the following if/then statement:
If a person clicks a link in the email associated with your email program, then set that person’s status in the program to Influenced.
In the next step, learn about the reporting options for emails using segmentations and dynamic content.
