Measuring success and testing your program
Your gated content program is ready to go, but you need to tell Marketo Engage what program success looks like.
The next step is to define the smart campaign that determines if the person status should be changed to Influenced.
But what action would you consider successful? Filling out the form, opening the email, or clicking on the link? Which option would mean the program met its objective?
Take a moment to write your own if/then statement, then click the card to reveal the answer.
Click the card to reveal the if/then statement.
What is the smart campaign if/then statement to determine success?
If a person clicks the download link in the auto-response email, then Marketo Engage changes their person status to influenced.

Testing Your program

Once you submit the form, you receive the auto-response email in your inbox, and your status changes to filled out form. Once you click the link in the email, your program status changes to influenced (success).
