Transcript
In this video, we’re going to learn how to create tags for decision management capabilities and show you how to use them in your offers.
Tags help you organize your offers and are also used to create dynamic collections later in the decision management workflow. As you see here, tags are one of the building block components of offers, just like placements and rules. However, unlike placements and rules, they’re not strictly required in order to create offers. That is unless you want to group offers by one or more tags. If that’s the case, it’s necessary to associate tags with offers so they can be grouped into what’s called a Dynamic Collection.
Hopping over to the Adobe Journey Optimizer interface, let’s start by selecting components from the left navigation and then select the Tags tab.
From the Tags tab page, we can see all our existing tags. Sort and filter them in different ways and expose additional details.
To create a a new tag, select Create Tag.
A tag is just a text label, give it a name, select Save, and we’ve created the tag. You might want to create tags for things like product categories, promotions, or whatever makes sense for grouping offers. If you have a Web Store, for example, it’s likely you already have a list of tags to choose from. When creating tags, it’s best to create all the tags you think you might use. This is because later when you create offers, you’ll be able to add any tags that were created to your offers.
Once we add tags to our offers, these tags can be used in the filter interface to help locate offers. Also, as I mentioned earlier, tags are used by dynamic collections to group offers. We can configure a dynamic collection to group all offers that share a specified set of tags. We can also further specify whether this dynamic collection should include offers that share any of the specified tags or all of them. For example, a dynamic collection could be created called Women’s Jackets with the Tags Women’s and Jackets, as well as with the All Tags conditions selected. Any existing offer that includes both these tags will be added to women’s jackets. Moreover, any new offer created with these same tags will be automatically pulled into this dynamic collection. With that you should now be able to create tags, have a sense of how they can be applied to offers for filtering, and how to use them to build Dynamic Collections. Thanks for watching. -
