Creating Smart Crop Image Profiles in AEM Dynamic Media

This video walks through the steps to create a Smart Crop Image Profile in AEM Dynamic Media.

Hello everyone. In this video, we’ll demonstrate how to create Smart Crop Profiles using AEM Dynamic Media. To do so, open the AEM homepage. Now, navigate to the Tools icon.
Select Assets, and now click on Image Profiles.
Now, click on Create. Give a name to the profile. Now, change the cropping property to Smart Crop. By default, three layouts are present. You can add according to the Add Crop option.
Click on Save.
Click the checkbox next to the Image Profile.
Click on Apply Processing. Select the folder you wish to work on, or create a new folder. Give a title to the folder, and click on Create.
Now, select the folder and click on Apply in the top right corner of the screen.
Move to the homepage and in the Navigation tab, click on Assets. Now, select Files and all the folders will be available. Select the folder you want to work on.
Click on Create. Now, select Files from the dropdown, and choose the file you want to upload. Click on Upload, and wait for the file to be uploaded.
Now the image is processed and synced.
Click on Renditions in the top left corner of the screen. The Image Profile will be available with the three layouts.
Now, choose the layout and you will find the cropped image with the focal area.
You can change the focal area using the Smart Crop option at the top left. Make the changes and save them.
Click on Quick Publish option. Now it will be available for public use.
Select the image layout, and then click on the URL tab.
Copy the URL, and then paste it in the search bar. The image will be available.
