Hello everyone, in this video we will show you how to update custom XDPs and data files in forms-ivs and output-ivs for testing purposes. Among the multiple services that AMForms provide, one is FormService which allows you to export import data from an into-pdf file and the other one is OutputService which allows you to merge XML data with XDP template or PDF to generate flattened PDF. We provide a testing UI out of the box for these two services. To use custom XDPs and data files to test the services, you need to follow some simple steps. Go to FormService IVS page and traverse to Preferences. Mention the location of the folder containing XDP file in the ContentRoot URI and the location of the folder containing XML file in the DataUri field. For example, we have the XDP file in TestForm folder and the XML file in TestData folder, so we mention the location of these folders in the respective fields. Now scroll down to enter the administrator user ID and password. Once you are done, click on Save. You can see the custom XDP and XML files in the TestForms design page. Select the XDP file, its corresponding XML file and the desired output format from the drop-down menu. Here we select PDF format. Now click on Use EJB to generate the PDF file. If the PDF gets generated properly, the FormService is running fine and can be used further. If not, you can check for exceptions in the logs of application server. You can verify the OutputService in a similar way by visiting the OutputService IVS page. Please note that these services are not enabled by default, so the corresponding EARs should be deployed first. This is how you can use custom XDPs and data files to test the forms and output services in AEM Forms. Thank you for watching this video.
