Adobe Audience Manager & LinkedIn Integration

The purpose of this document is to explain the process of creating a URL-based LinkedIn Destination for the purposes of ‘pushing’ Adobe Audience Manager (AAM) segments to LinkedIn for online ad targeting.

Please note: This method is an unofficial (and unsupported) URL-based, LinkedIn destination. Even so, this document was created to help customers in leveraging their AAM segments within the LinkedIn platform beyond that of the official, People-based Destination for LinkedIn. While Adobe Customer Care will support URL destinations in general, any LinkedIn UI updates or issues with the LinkedIn URLs listed below must be taken up with LinkedIn.


  1. LinkedIn Account ID
  2. AAM Segments created in AAM UI ready to assign to LinkedIn Destination

Step 1 – Create LinkedIn Destination in AAM

Create a new URL Destination in AAM called “LinkedIn Audiences” with the following settings (screenshot below):

  • Basic information

    • Environment: All
    • Type: URL
    • Tick ‘Auto-fill destination Mapping’ and select ‘Segment ID’
  • Data Export Labels: Set per your legal requirements for using data in this manner

  • Configuration

    • URL Type: Custom URL

    • Tick ‘Serialize’

    • Base URL: This will be where you enter the LinkedIn Pixel

Where XXXXX: is your LinkedIn Partner ID and%ALIAS% : is an AAM macro which will be dynamically replaced with the AAM segment ID’s the user qualifies for, delimited by comma “,”.

Example Pixel fired from the page:,2993399,3263410

This example shows a user who falls into three segments or IDs 3401321,2993399 and 3263410

Step 2 – Assign Segment to Destination

Assign the applicable segment to the newly created destination. You will notice the mapping value is auto-populated with the AAM segment ID.

Enter an end date if applicable, otherwise, leave blank for no end date.

Now AAM will selectively fire the LinkedIn pixel, populating the Segment ID dynamically. Once the LinkedIn URL is fired, the user will qualify for an Audience in LinkedIn.
