Settings

You can customize Payment Services to your needs with helpful settings in the Payment Services Home.

To configure Payment Services for Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source click Settings. These configuration options apply only to the environment that is set in the Payment mode field in General settings.

IMPORTANT

For multi-store or legacy configuration, refer to the Configure in the Admin topic.

Enable Payment Services

You can enable Payment Services for your website, and enable either sandbox testing or live payments, in the General section.

  1. On the Admin sidebar, go to Sales > Payment Services.

  2. Click Settings. See Introduction to Payment Services Home for more information.

    The General section includes settings used to enable Payment Services as the payment method.

  3. To enable Payment Services as the payment method for your store, toggle (Enable Payment Services as payment method) to Yes.

  4. If you are still testing Payment Services for your store, set Payment mode to Sandbox. If you are ready to enable live payments, set it to Production.

    WARNING

    Your Sandbox Merchant ID and Production Merchant ID are auto-generated and present in their respectable fields when you finish onboarding for the sandbox and/or production. Do not remove or change these IDs.

  5. To change the default settings for payment functions and storefront display, set the additional options as needed:

    If you try to navigate away from this view without saving your changes, a modal appears that prompts you to discard changes, keep editing, or save changes.

  7. Navigate to System > Cache Management and click Flush Cache to refresh all invalid caches.

Credit card fields

The Credit Card Fields settings provide a simple and secure checkout option for credit card or debit card payment methods.

  1. To change the name of the payment method displayed during checkout, edit the value in the Checkout title field.

  2. To set the payment action, toggle Payment action to Authorize or Authorize and Capture.

  3. To enable debug mode, toggle the Debug Mode selector.

  4. Click Save.

    If you try to navigate away from this view without saving your changes, a modal appears that prompts you to discard changes, keep editing, or save changes.

  5. Navigate to System > Cache Management and click Flush Cache to refresh all invalid caches.

PayPal smart buttons

The PayPal Smart Buttons payment options provide a simple, fast, and secure checkout process for your customer. See Payments options for more information.

You can enable and configure the PayPal smart buttons payment options:

  1. To change the name of the payment method as shown during checkout, edit the value in the Checkout Title field.

  2. To set the payment action, toggle Payment action to Authorize or Authorize and Capture.

  3. Use the toggle selectors to enable or disable PayPal smart button display features:

    • Show buttons on product detail page
    • Show buttons in mini cart preview
    • Show buttons on cart page
    • PayPal Pay Later enabled
    • Show Venmo button
  4. To change the Pay Later messaging, toggle the Display Pay Later message option.

  5. To enable debug mode, toggle the Debug Mode selector.

  6. Click Save.

    If you try to navigate away from this view without saving your changes, a modal appears that prompts you to discard changes, keep editing, or save changes.

  7. Navigate to System > Cache Management and click Flush Cache to refresh all invalid caches.

Button style

You can also configure the Button style options of the PayPal smart buttons:

  1. To change the Layout, select Vertical or Horizontal.

    NOTE

    If the button style is configured as Horizontal and your store is configured to show multiple PayPal smart buttons, you may only see two buttons displayed on the product page, checkout page, and mini cart, and one button displayed in the cart.

  2. To enable the tagline in a horizontal layout, toggle the Show tagline selector.

  3. To modify the Color, select the desired color option.

  4. To modify the Shape, select Pill or Rect.

  5. To enable button height selector, toggle the Responsive button height selector.

  6. To modify the Label, select the desired label option.

  7. Click Save.

    If you try to navigate away from this view without saving your changes, a modal appears that prompts you to discard changes, keep editing, or save changes.

  8. Navigate to System > Cache Management and click Flush Cache to refresh all invalid caches.
