Hello, today I’ll show you how to set up dynamic related product rules in Adobe Commerce. Related product rules are used to set up product blocks that highlight three types of relationships between products. First one is related products. Second one is upsells, and you’ll note that in this carousel, every product is more expensive than the main product on my page. And the last type is cross-sells and these will appear in the cart for your shoppers. Now let’s take a look at how these are set up in the admin. First, we navigate to related product rules, open an existing rule and look at metadata free tool. So each one will have a name, priority, status, can be active or inactive, then what we apply to, related products and upsells, again, appear on the product detail page. Cross-sells will appear on the card page. Optionally, you give them a time range and a result limit. Now, next you determine which customer sets customer groups this rule will apply to. I just have selected all. Next tab determines products to match. And this is when the rule is triggered for me. The rule is when category is mens’ jackets. And the last tab is products to display. This is what kinds of products will be surfaced by the carousel, and for me, this is the product category of the product is the same as what I’m looking at and product price is equal or greater to the product being viewed. That way, every product surfaced is more expensive than the one being looked at. Now next tip is if you want custom product attributes to show up in the rule builder, you need to make sure that the storefront properties, used for promo rule conditions, is set to yes, and this way, this custom product attribute will be available in the rule builder for related product rules. Finally, let’s look at configurations for this functionality. Can use our handy search here to navigate to the block of settings. So each relationship type will have three settings here. So three-four related product rules, three-four cross-sells and three-four upsells. Now each one determines how the rules, combined with manually selected products, so you can do both or either one, how big the total result set would be and then how the sort order is determined. So for details on these settings, you can refer to our documentation in the user guide in the Adobe Experience League. Thank you for watching. -
