MDVA-44940: SQL error while saving category from admin

The MDVA-44940 patch fixes the issue where an SQL error occurs while saving a category from the admin. This patch is available when the Quality Patches Tool (QPT) 1.1.16 is installed. The patch ID is MDVA-44940. Please note that the issue is scheduled to be fixed in Adobe Commerce 2.4.6.

NOTE
The patch might become applicable to other versions with new Quality Patches Tool releases. To check if the patch is compatible with your Adobe Commerce version, update the magento/quality-patches package to the latest version and check the compatibility on the Quality Patches Tool: Search for patches page. Use the patch ID as a search keyword to locate the patch.

Issue

An SQL error occurs when saving a category from the admin.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install sample data.

  2. Create a second website with a store group assigned to the default category.

    • Create a store view assigned to the new store group.
  3. Create stock and an additional source assigned to this stock and a sales channel assigned to the second website.

  4. Create a test product assigned to the second website.

  5. Go to Admin > Catalog > Categories, select Scope = Second Website and go to Products in Category > Automatic Sorting > Move out-of-stock products to the bottom and click Save.

Expected results:

The category is saved.

Actual results:

The following error occurs: Something went wrong while saving the category.
