Process orders

After Walmart Marketplace orders have been acknowledged and successfully sent to Channel Manager, you use Commerce Order Management to process the order.

Channel Manager synchronizes updates to Walmart Marketplace to ensure that the order status and shipping information from Commerce matches the data tracked in the Walmart Marketplace.

  • Order shipments–Walmart requires a tracking number for all shipments. If some items are out of stock, you can create partial shipments to send items that are currently available. After you submit the shipment, order updates are synchronized to Walmart Marketplace. Then, Walmart notifies customers about the order status and shipping details.

  • Order cancellations–When you cancel a Walmart Marketplace order, Walmart requires a cancellation reason which is included in the order cancellation notice sent to the customer. The cancellation reason is also displayed in the Commerce order payments information. After you submit the cancellation, inventory updates are synchronized to Walmart Marketplace. Then, Walmart notifies customers about the order status and shipping details.

    In the storefront, you must cancel the entire order. Commerce does not allow partial cancellations.

When Commerce orders are processed and Channel Manager successfully synchronizes shipment, partial shipment, and cancellation updates to the Walmart Marketplace, the order processing is complete.

NOTE

It can take up to five minutes for order updates to synchronize to Walmart Marketplace. To check the order status, return to the Channel Manager Orders page.

Ship an order

  1. From the Admin, select Marketing > Channel Manager.

  2. Open the store view by selecting the eye icon for a sales channel store.

  3. To view Walmart Marketplace orders, select Orders.

  4. In the Orders table, open the order to ship by selecting the Commerce Order Number.

  5. Create and submit a shipment for all or part of an order by selecting Ship.

    • Choose a shipping carrier and add a tracking number by selecting Add tracking number.

  6. After submitting the shipment, track the order status in Channel Manager to verify that updates were sent to Walmart Marketplace.

Cancel an order

  1. From the Admin, select Marketing > Channel Manager.

  2. Open the store view by selecting the eye icon for a sale channel store.

  3. To view Walmart Marketplace orders, select Orders.

  4. In the Orders table, open the order detail page by selecting the Commerce Order Number for the order to cancel.

  5. Cancel the order.

    • Select Cancel from the Order Detail menu.

    • On the Cancel Order form, select the Cancellation reason.

  6. After submitting the cancellation, track the order status in Channel Manager to verify that updates were sent to Walmart Marketplace.

Fix order errors

Errors can occur during the order synchronization process from Walmart Marketplace, or during the order update process for shipments, partial shipments, and cancellations.

If the synchronization operation for a shipment, partial shipment, or cancellation update fails, the Channel Manager Orders page shows an Error status for the order. To ensure that shipment information and order cancellation information is accurately reflected in Walmart Marketplace account, manually update the order in your Walmart Marketplace store.
