For a category, use the Products in Category section to review the products that are currently assigned to the category. The search filters at the top of each column are used to add and remove products from the category. You can also use category rules ( Adobe Commerce only) to dynamically change the product selection when a set of conditions is met. To learn more, see Visual Merchandiser).
During category rule setup, the products are sorted, matched, assigned, and unassigned according to that rule only when this category is saved. To ensure that a new product is assigned according to the rule when you add it to the catalog, you must resave each category that is set to match products by rule. Also, if any product stock status is changed to In Stock
or Out of Stock
and products in the category are sorted according to the Automatic Sorting rule, you must click Save Category.
On the category pages, Out of stock
products are always displayed after In Stock
products on the product listing with all sorting types.
The Stock column displays salable product quantity for selected category scope only. When multiple stocks are managed for products, you should switch between the corresponding scopes to display other Stock column values in the Category Products grid.
