Adobe Campaign has two types or profiles:
Profiles which are grouped according to one or multiple common criteria are called audiences.
This video explains how to navigate to existing profiles and how to create profiles and audiences in Adobe Campaign Standard.
Learning Objectives, after completing this training demonstration, you should be able to review and navigate to existing profiles, create new user profiles, as well as create audiences. Let’s go ahead and see a live demo. Here from the homepage of Adobe Campaign Standard, I see the different cards for quick access to various tools within Adobe Campaign Standard. Let’s go ahead and start by clicking on the customer profiles card to see all of the customer profiles currently in our system.
Here I can see a search filters already been put on for myself. If I turn that off, I can see the list of all the different profiles currently in the system. From this tool, I can create any other filter such as Hotmail, and create other filters to look for users within the tool.
I have an ability to quickly export the list by clicking on this export list button, and I can also configure list here and choose what fields I want to see listed.
Click OK, to add email. And now I see the email for each user listed here as well, in another column. I can also sort by the header for any column. Let’s go ahead and click Create, to create a new user profile.
Please note the new user profiles can be entered into campaign three different ways. One, by importing a list, secondly, by adding them in through the graphical user interface, as I’m about to do. And lastly, users can also be creating the system by filling out forms via landing pages. We’ll cover that topic in a future lesson. Let’s go ahead and create a new user. I will create myself.
And build some basic information here.
Email format, I accept HTML email.
And as you see below here, also no longer contact. If a user were to click on subscribing email, this will automatically get selected here, in the future. Here we have another area for address information, go and put the city, zip code and we’ll do the state as well.
Okay, let’s also put in a phone number and we should be all set.
Now let’s also add a date of birth. That way we can look at some queries and filters how and see how those, would be applied here, okay? And just look at the other fields here we see traceability, created date, modified date, get our audit trail there as well. Let’s go ahead and click, Create Now. Notice I could also replace the image here and you can create profiles with images of the users. We’ll leave it to the Avatar for now.
Click Create, and now we see that this profile has been created.
I could edit this profile from here, we see that the username is created, the age has been calculated based on the birth date, and create additional filters for when these profiles may have been created, that I’m trying to find. If I click on the profile name at the top here, I can navigate back one level up to my profiles and see all the profiles here.
In the profiles view, and click the search button here and quickly filter and see that I’ve got two recipients now or profiles created, based on this email address. Let’s go back up to the Profiles and Audience page, and now let’s create another test profile for testing those email deliveries before we send them out. I’ll go ahead and click on test profiles and see my list here. Now please note that we have currently the title view, often we like to change that to a List View. You simply can change that right here. Adobe Campaign Standard will remember your selection for future pages. Often the List View is more easy to navigate when you have a large amount of data in your system. Let’s go ahead and click Create here, in the test profiles, and add a profile for myself as well, so I can send the emails to myself here.
We can see that the usage here is for proof, we’ll leave that as is, and just put an email address here.
Now we can also add some other test profile information, such as city, state, as we did before, let’s go ahead and put in San Francisco and select California as our state.
Okay, great. Now that I’ve put in all the information here for a test profile, I’ll go ahead and click Create.
Now I’m viewing the Edit page for this test profile. If I navigate up again one level by using the handy navigation right here in the top center of the screen, now I can see the list of all the test profiles. Now remember, if I click this slide out icon up here to show the search, I’ll be able to filter, and I can also filter on certain things like all users who are eligible for proof emails, email rendering and traps, and I can easily also just enter that email address in here. Always remember, I can click this icon up here to configure list, to add another field that I may want to see. Let’s go ahead, and in this case, add in the email address, and we’ll see that listed as well.
And now we can see the column with email addresses and I can see the recently created profile for myself. As a next step, let’s create an audience that helps us target this email domain of adobe.com.
To do so, I’m going to go back to profiles and audiences and navigate to the Audiences section.
First thing I’m going to do, as you can see I don’t have any audiences created yet, is click the Create button to create a new audience. Let’s go ahead and give it a label, Adobe Digital Learning Services Audience for Video Training. We’ll leave that internal ID as it is, we’ll leave this as a query, we’re going to be targeting based on the profile. What we want to do now, is create a query to filter and create the specific audience. To do so, I’m going to navigate here to the email section, and drag over the email query.
I’m going to change now this filter condition to say, contains, and we’ll go ahead and put in adobe.com.
We’ll make this a rule our adobe.com profiles only.
I’ll go ahead and click Confirm now. Now one of the handy things with campaign standards is a quick tool to help you understand your data. I can check for my account here, I have three. I’ll go ahead and click Preview here. And I can see that I’ve got the TechOps and tool for myself already created.
Let’s go ahead and click Create.
And now I have my new audience created. If I go back to audiences here in the navigation, I see that listed here. I see this is my profile that I’ve created.
And click back into it, and go see that I created those profiles, excellent. In this training, we learned how to create a profile, we learned how to create a test profile for sending test proofs of emails. And we also learned how to create audiences. Thank you, and next, let’s continue on to our next lesson. -
