This video explains how to change the targeting dimension of a delivery for a Platform Audience outside of the primary profile table in Adobe Campaign Standard.

Transcript
In this video, I’m going to walk you through one of the latest platform-enabled features where you can change the targeting dimension of the delivery for a platform audience outside of the primary profile tool in Campaign. The platform data mapping feature is very similar in functionality to the targeting dimension feature found in the Query activity. You can access the platform data mapping feature in the Read audience activity, which is where you would also activate a platform audience. Once in the Read audience activity, you’ll notice that the platform data mapping feature doesn’t appear until after I’ve selected Adobe Experience Platform under Type of audience. Once the feature appears, you can now select the desired targeting dimension from the dropdown menu. In your instance, you may notice that the primary reconciliation keys you’ve established while creating your profile table will appear by default. However, if you want to target keys outside of that table, you have to complete a list of items that I’ll briefly review later on.
In this walkthrough, I’m going to play the role of marketer of a major retailer program where I’ve stored a subset of customer profile data in a custom table. This also contains information on the different loyalty programs I have and in this particular example, I want to target all members of the y2y loyalty program for an upcoming promotion. In order for me to send an email to all members of the y2y loyalty program, I’m going to have to complete all the items in this list. For this walkthrough, however, I’m not going to go into detail on how to complete these items, but I’ll include helpful links in the resource section so that you get more detailed instructions on how to complete it. It’s also important to note that you only have to complete these lists of items once for every ID mapping that you create. So in this example, I only need to do these steps once for the y2y loyalty program members. For the first item, I need to make sure that an email address exists in the custom table where I stored all the information about my y2y loyalty program. And you can see here, from my custom table, that it does exist.
The second item needed is a namespace associated with the desired targeting dimension. So in my example, I need to create a namespace for all the members associated with the y2y loyalty program. You can create a namespace by navigating to the Administration section and then clicking on Namespaces. I’ve already pre-created a namespace for the y2y program, which is then keyed off based on the member ID of that loyalty program.
After you’ve created the namespace, you’ll now need to make sure that you have a target mapping corresponding to that namespace. You can create a target mapping associated with that namespace by navigating to the Administration section, then Application settings and clicking on Target mappings. I’ve already created a target mapping corresponding to the y2y program.
Finally, the last item in this list is to make sure that you have a delivery template associated with the desired namespace. You can create a delivery template associated with that namespace by navigating to Resources, Templates and then clicking on Delivery templates. I’ve already created a custom delivery template associated with the y2y loyalty program. Now that we’ve completed all items in this checklist, we’re ready to go ahead and send an email to all members of the y2y loyalty program. Now we’re ready to configure the Read audience activity for the email delivery.
First up is selecting an audience, which I’ve pre-created earlier. The audience definition is simply targeting all members of the y2y loyalty program. I’ll then select the target mapping that is associated with this program, which is the y2y program. Once I’ve configured the Read audience activity to my liking, I can go ahead and click Confirm to close it up. I can now continue building out my workflow as desired. In this case, I’m going to keep it fairly simple and close it with an email. I’m going to go ahead and open the email to edit the template. I’m going to select Single send email. Under email type, I’m going to select the delivery template I created specifically for the y2y program. This is important to ensure a successful delivery of your workflow. After this step, this just involves the marketer designing the template itself, which I will not go through in further detail, however, you can personalize it as you would like and send the email after. Thank you so much for watching.
