Modifying custom resources for privacy requests

When setting up Adobe Campaign Standard to handle privacy requests, you must ensure that any custom data that is linked to a profile is deleted when the profile is deleted. This video explains how to modify your custom resources in order to fulfill this requirement.

When setting up ACS for the handling of privacy requests, you will need to ensure that when deleting a profile any linked data is deleted as well. For this, you will have to customize any custom resources you have set up. So I will show you how to do this and what you need to customize.
You will need to modify any custom resource that has a link to the profile. Let’s take a closer look at the transactions.
So if you scroll down, you can see that this custom resource is linked to the profile with one cardinality simple link which means a profile can have multiple transactions related to it. These should all be deleted when we delete a profile. So in order to ensure that, we will need to change the settings in this link. So I’m going to edit the properties.
On the Link Definition screen, You have a section called Behavior if deleted or duplicated. By default, it is set to the target record can be deleted once it is no longer referenced by the link. This basically means that when the profile is deleted, the transactional data will remain in the system. So to ensure that the target record will actually be deleted, you will need to choose one of the other options. Either deleting the target record implies deleting records referenced by the link or deleting or duplicating the target record implies deleting or duplicating the records referenced by the link. Both options will have the same effect when the profile data is deleted. The target data will be deleted as well.
Remember to republish the custom resource every time you do make a change, or else the changes will not take effect.
Thank you for watching. -
